2019 Oct 17 - My Legare is going to the Chambord CSM SPA!

Choosing a new paint color for my machine was super hard.

I knew from the few I saw, although I LOVE TEAL - a machine in all one color (as gorgeous as it is) seemed to cry for some kind of combination of colors. I fell in love with three different colors initially and asked about doing using applying certain colors to certain pieces however after much thought and further discussion we decided upon their in stock darker teal and the bright green which I ordered ahead and shipped with my machine due to time constraints. Choices can be found on the prismatic website under SHOP - FINISHES - SOLID TONE - a CSM needs approximately 1-2lbs of powder coat paint.

I chose to reinforce my antique CSM box with a machine attachable shelf. The components which were not shipped were: ribber dials, cylinders, vertical yarn mast, yarn topper/carrier (ordered newer Dave Lord replacements). I attached my machine upside down on the inner shelf I’d added before, secured the crank wheel to the inner wall with a cushioned secured part and then cushion wrapped and packed the bright green unopened powder coat paint and components into the box. I made a custom wood lid and then screwed it closed. Once everything was secure I then wrapped the wood box in two layers of heavy brown kraft paper, added shipping from and to and then was given a ride to Canada Post to ship with out with insurance to Dave Lord in Quebec. The parcel weighed 38.8lbs! I didn’t think to ask how long my machine would be away but was trying to be patient.

Having asked in advance, I was honored in the meantime to be able to have a slightly older Legare on loan to me from Susan Forsyth in Mission, BC. This was an incredible favor and I appreciated not having to do without.
